A Look at Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose

I was reading through my favorite book of the Bible (Romans) today and I came across a great verse. Romans 8:28 is a great encouragement to all of us, in that we can rest assured that everything is going to be ok. But have you ever looked at the last part of that verse?

Of course God has a plan for each of our lives, and He already knew it before we were born, (Jeremiah 29:11) but what exactly has God called us to do? Well, one of the greatest commandments God has given to us can be found in Scripture, and it is simply to spread His gospel around the world (Matthew 28:19).

Another great purpose that God has ordained us for can be found in Luke 4:18. In this passage He tells us that we are to teach His gospel, tear down strongholds in each others lives, and to help those who can understand things to come to a better understanding of them. Makes you wonder if most of what we do lines up with His grand scheme, doesn't it?
