For Your Name

We got a new hope
all because of the cross
Saved by the grace
you have given to us
We got a new song
All the nations will sing
Oh-oh oh-oh-oh-oh

Here's the second verse of Hillsong's "For Your Name", found on their latest album Faith+Hope+Love. I love that part about our new hope all because of the cross. Imagine that: the cross. The thing that most credit to be the the thing that killed Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, giving us hope? Is that possible?

I've been reading throughout the gospels of Jesus Christ a lot lately. We've all heard the story hundreds of times. Christ was born, he lived, he died and he rose from the dead on the third day.

The thing that still gets to me, is that He did all this (dying for us) while we were living in rebellion towards Him. Galations 5:19-21 gives us a clear understanding of what "sin" is. And since we are all sinners, to think that God loves us enough to willing send His own Son to die for us, who were living in sin, is still amazing to me (Romans 5:8).

So when you get the chance this next week, (not on Sunday or Wednesday at church), check out the Good News of Christ.
