Holocaust Museum Shooting

This morning there were shots fired at the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. Imagine that. A place that honors and remembers those who have long since died by the hands of Nazi war criminals, found itself the site of a shooting. The lone gunman, identified as James Von Brunn, an 88 year old white supremacist, stormed the museum and opened fire on two guards, killing one.

While watching CNN cover this story, there were several shots of people and the emotions that they displayed were ineffable. After I turned off my TV, and started thinking, the Holy Spirit reminded me of something that I had read concerning suffering. Romans 8:18 says "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us".

Surly there are many people that have been affected by tragic events such as the Holocaust, and have turned to any number of things in a futile attempt to cope with their feelings. In my opinion, the only thing they need to do is put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ and let Him do the rest. The book of Romans also tells us that everything will turn out fine if you love God( 8:28).
