This afternoon on the way home, I saw this guy on the side of the road walking with a large wooden cross with two wheels at the base. As you can imagine, my mind automatically flew to the bible verse that talks about carrying your cross (Luke 14:27). This small reminder definitely came at a time when I needed it.
In our last Discipleship Class at Driven, we talked about how our relationship was with God, and weather or not we had surrender everything to Him. When Pastor Mark first asked me that question, at first I thought I knew that my answer was absolutely yes. However, upon further examination, my certain yes slowly faded into a maybe, and then it quickly escalated to a very uncertain discovery: I guess not.
That man could have been called a thousand different insulting names, but he still kept on with his goal: carrying his cross. After he had already passed, I questioned myself as to weather or not I could do what he did. I mean, of coarse I say I would but would I really? Would you?
